Local, national and international author events are often hosted by Salt Lake County Library. In fact, each year we host a Local Authors & You one-day event where aspiring writers have a chance to meet and work with local published authors as well as learn the tools of the trade. United We Read SLC
United We Read

United We Read SLC is an initiative for everyone in Salt Lake County to connect by reading the same book and by sharing their experience with others.

“A Man Called Ove” by Fredrik Backman, the 2015 County Library’s Reader’s Choice winner, is the book selected for the 2017 United We Read SLC initiative. The following Salt Lake County libraries are participating:

Murray Library
Salt Lake City Public Library
Salt Lake County Library

Classes, events and activities related to the book will take place across the County through May 2017. Be sure to like the United We Read SLC Facebook page.

The County Library is pleased to welcome award-winning local early reader author Lindsey Leavitt to our Holladay Branch. Leavitt will discuss her books, answer questions, and offer a special storytime – reading “The Birthday Suit” and sharing tales from the Commander in Cheese series.

Talk, Sing, Read, Write, Play with renowned Children's Author Rosemary Wells at the County Library.

Participate in Hand in Hand discussion with Rosemary, parents, caregivers, teachers, librarians and enjoy early learning tips and tricks. Additionally, on day two, children and families can enjoy Hand in Hand play, storytime, crafts, music and movement.
