Early Learning

The County Library loves learning and we offer oodles of programs for little learners and their caring adults.

 

1,000 Books

Reading 1,000 books with your child before they start school helps build early learning skills. Stop by your local County Library to pick up a 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten journal. Find a County Library near you: slcolibrary.org/locations

 

Books for Baby

A book and small bag are given to newborns and their parent(s) at Salt Lake County hospitals to welcome babies to Salt Lake County and The County Library.

 

Storytimes

Interactive stories, rhymes, finger plays, music, movement and more for babies, toddlers, preschoolers and their caring adult(s). Fun for the whole family, often offered in Spanish and ASL. Find a storytime near you: slcolibrary.org/calendar

 

Storytime to Go

A mobile storytime kit complete with books, toys and activities. Available for checkout at select County Library branches. Find a kit near you, call Customer Service: 801.943.4636

 

Vroom App

Free, fun and easy brain building tips and activities for little ones—ideal for those 6 and under. Download the app: app.vroom.org

 

Launchpad

Pre-loaded tablets, available for check out, with fun learning apps and games for kids. Find a County Library near you: slcolibrary.org/locations

 

In addition to these programs and tools, we’ve got loads of books, movies, music and super smart librarians at our County Library locations, as well as eAudiobooks and eBooks for kids.
