Summer Reading Challenge at the County Library June 1-July 31

Adventure Begins at the County Library

Embark on an epic quest and unlock the thrill of adventure as you read, create, learn, play, and connect your way to prizes and discounted activities all summer long!

Summer Reading is an all-ages challenge to explore literature and the world around you while earning books and other prizes in the process. Finishers also receive free and/or discounted admission to parks, museums, zoos, and more!

How to participate

  1. Pick up a reading record at your local branch or register and track online
  2. Log your reading and activities
  3. Return your completed reading record to any County Library branch for:
    • A book of your choice
    • Entry into a drawing
    • A coupon sheet for local attractions
  4. Have fun!

Bonus round!

Keep the summer fun going and earn even more chances to win!

  1. Pick up a bonus activity card at your local branch.
  2. Read for the number of minutes indicated on the path to move around the map.
  3. When you land on a continent, choose an activity (read, create, learn, play, or connect) to explore the region and earn a bonus drawing entry. Earn up to seven entries per bonus round.
  4. Visit a County Library branch either as you land on a continent or when you finish your travels around the world to redeem prizes. You must visit a branch before starting another journey around the map.
  5. Journey around the world a second time by doubling the amount of reading time to travel to each continent. Triple the time to complete a third round. Visit the library between rounds to redeem your prizes.
  6. Earn the ultimate treasure—a free book—for every fully completed journey around the world (3 max).
  7. Return your bonus activity between each round or as you land on each continent to receive your prizes.
