Welcome Educators

As a Salt Lake County educator, we are asking you to encourage students and caregivers to sign up for the County Library’s 2026 Summer Reading challenge.

Why?

Student participation in Summer Reading has many benefits, including social, mental, emotional, and physical development, knowledge retention, improved test scores, and increased interest in school subjects. Summer readers also develop a sense of accomplishment and an increased understanding of goal development and attainment.

Spread the Word.

We’re making it easy for you to spread the word with a digital toolkit that includes rack cards, posters, digital signs, web links, flyers, and a video that will aid you in your promotion of this important program. Feel free to use these resources in any way you see fit: sharing, embedding, linking, downloading, emailing, etc.

Cost?

Like the materials below—and all County Library programs—the Summer Reading program is free of charge so no one is excluded for financial reasons.
