Salt Lake County Library is committed to providing equitable access to its programs, services, and activities, including those offered through digital platforms. We strive to ensure our website, online services, and digital content are accessible to all users, including individuals with disabilities.

Standards and Guidelines

The Library aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Title II. These standards guide our efforts to make digital content accessible and usable for individuals using assistive technologies and for those with varying accessibility needs.

Ongoing Efforts

We are actively working to improve accessibility across our website and digital services. This includes ongoing evaluation and remediation of content, staff training on accessibility best practices, development of accessible documents, and integration of accessibility into our design, publishing, and procurement processes. Where possible, we provide information in accessible HTML formats and are working to improve the accessibility of existing documents, including PDFs.

Known Limitations

While we strive to ensure full accessibility, some content, certain third-party platforms or older documents, may not yet fully meet accessibility standards. We are working with staff and vendors in prioritizing updates to improve access wherever possible.
