October Music Events

October is a good month to check out shows by some newer groups and some old favorites. Indie rockers Titus Andronicus are performing at Kilby Court on October 6. The group's new album The Most Lamentable Tragedy is an ambitious rock opera made up of five acts and 29 songs. My Morning Jacket will be in town on October 7 at The Complex. Known for being an energetic and rousing live act, the band will be highlighting songs from The Waterfall, their seventh studio album. Slash, best known as a founding member of Guns N' Roses and for his omnipresent top hat, is playing at The Depot on October 15. Slash is touring with singer Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators. These musicians also appeared on Slash's latest album World on Fire.

Every Open Eye

Scotland's electro-pop trio Chvrches will be performing at The Complex on October 21. The group made a splash in 2013 with their first album The Bones of What You Believe. Their second album Every Open Eye was just released in late September. Veteran rockers Collective Soul are playing at The Complex on Halloween night. The band was formed in the early 1990s and has just released their ninth studio album, See What You Started By Continuing. It is Collective Soul's first album in six years.
