The Volunteer Program at the Salt Lake County Libraries enhances the high quality of service delivered to the community. We value our volunteers for the support they provide staff in achieving the mission and goals of the library.
Community Volunteer Opportunities
We are excited to work with a wide range of volunteers in our libraries. Please contact your neighborhood library for more information on community volunteer opportunities near you. We have volunteers serving in all of the following ways:

Helping Hands in the library!Court Order Service Volunteer Opportunities
Salt Lake County Library Services will consider court mandated service for traffic offenses and truancy. All Court Ordered Volunteers are screened by the Library System Volunteer Coordinator prior to service. Court Ordered Community Service opportunities are limited. - Salt Lake County Library Volunteer Application
- Salt Lake County Volunteer Contract
- Background Check Waiver (18 years and older)
- All volunteers over 18 years old are required to pass a background check prior to volunteering.
