What is Library Elf?

Library Elf tracks your library account record and will send you emails, RSS feeds, and/or text messages. You set the times for reminders, and it does the work!

Library Elf is a free, independent web service that Salt Lake County Library has paid to provide this service free to our customers.
Library patrons set up free accounts at Library Elf and participate in their services at their own option and risk. You’ll need your email address, library card number and PIN to set up a free account. Please read their FAQ and Privacy Policy before getting started.

What will you be able to do with Library Elf?

  • Consolidate information for all family card holders in one email/text message.
  • Receive reminders of due dates before materials are due (or overdue).
  • Receive notification via email or text messaging when items on hold are ready to be picked up.
  • Send notices to multiple email addresses.
  • View due dates for multiple accounts in one convenient calendar format.

Can Library Elf guarantee that you’ll receive notification?
Library Elf is an independent web service not affiliated with the Salt Lake County Library that accesses your library account to send you notification of materials coming due or materials on hold. Email or text messaging notification can fail to be delivered for a variety of reasons. This service is in addition to the notifications you currently receive from the library.
