As one of the largest and busiest libraries in Salt Lake County, the Whitmore Library houses an extensive collection of books, magazines, movies, music CD’s and audiobooks. Enjoy a comfortable chair as you read your favorite book, magazine, or newspaper in the reading space illuminated by natural light.

The library also offers twenty-four public computer stations which include internet access and Microsoft Word and Excel software. Wireless service is provided as well. The fourteen individual study carrels equipped with outlets are ideal for using your laptop or netbook. Printing from the Deseret News, Salt Lake Tribune, and New York Times microfilm collection is free.

The Teen Café offers a large collection of materials for young adults. Programs for teens are offered every month. The Teen Advisory Board publishes the bimonthly Teen Library Newsletter.

The bright and spacious Children’s Room boasts a comprehensive collection of children’s materials as well as a puppet theater, reading gazebo, rocking animal toys, and a “story time” room. Numerous story times and other programs for children from birth to twelve years of age are offered on a monthly basis.

After browsing our ongoing book sale, don’t forget to see the creative output of local artists in the exhibit hall. The large meeting room can be reserved for public use.
