The Ruth Vine Tyler Library, which is off the main thoroughfares and located in a friendly neighborhood setting, has been serving Salt Lake County residents since 1967. Even though it is a smaller library, it offers all the amenities of a larger one, including books, DVDs, music CDs and audio books. Tyler Library also houses over 100 magazine titles for children, teens and adults, with back issues available for checkout.

The library also offers 21 computers with internet access and word processing capabilities, as well as high speed wireless access. Our databases supply endless information, and patrons have access to materials from any Salt Lake County library by reserving popular material and then picking it up at Tyler Library. Self checkout is available for quick service, but our friendly staff, including three Spanish speaking staff members, is always willing to assist you.

Tyler has a growing collection of Spanish materials to serve our diverse population. In addition to print materials, you will find DVD’s CD’s and audio books.  We currently have two Spanish-speaking staff members to help our growing Latino population.

To serve our younger population, story times are offered for preschoolers on Wednesday mornings. We also host programs throughout the year for all age groups. Come enjoy our landscaping and read a book on our shady back lawn. 

Our meeting room, with a 50 person capacity, is available for public meetings.
