More Upcoming Millcreek Community Library Events

  1. Art Exhibit by Leonard and Kathryn Romney 4/29/2017

10:00 AM to 6:00 PM - Millcreek Library & Community Center: A few years ago, but definitely after Kathryn's Alzheimer's disease diagnosis, she and I participated in an Art and Alzheimer's presentation...Researchers and professional caregivers cited studies touting the beneficial effects of art on disease bearers...I [had] been taking art classes from Marian Dunn, a talented, well known, highly respected, and loving art instructor. After our experience [with the Art and Alzheimer's presentation], Kathryn decided she would like to learn how to create art. Marian was delighted...and wisely directed me to pursue my own creative bents and claimed for herself the task and opportunity to teach, guide, and help Kathryn...Her pictures will be treasures to our family well after we are gone.

  2. Art Exhibit by Lizzie Wenger 5/1/2017

10:00 AM to 6:00 PM - Millcreek Library & Community Center: Since the day my hands were able to grasp an object, I have had some sort of art tool residing within them. Whether it be scribbles of crayons on copy paper, or $15 per ounce tube of oil paint on canvas, I have always made my mark somehow. Creation of art is an outlet for me, not only to release any built up stress but to express my feelings, thoughts and ideas. Most often I find myself creating art which I hope will bring joy and optimism to others, especially in such a time of political turmoil. At fifteen years old, I am aspiring to continue my journey of positivity, love, and art throughout my life.
