  • The Library's Viridian Event Center is a multi-use event space with endless event potential. The Center is designed to accommodate events produced by the Salt Lake County Library Services, Salt Lake County, local government entities and organizations and as a rentable resource for local events. It brings a whole new world of possibilities ranging from author presentations, music and concerts, movies, festivals, fairs, meetings, school dances, fundraising galas, weddings, receptions and more.
  • A large multipurpose room of 7,100 sq. ft. can be sub-divided into two or three sections.
  • The building lobby functions as a pre-event space.
  • An outdoor amphitheater can be connected to the indoor multipurpose room.
  • A catering kitchen and easily accessible loading dock are available behind the scenes.
  • You can find more about upcoming events, rental rates and availability at the Viridian website.
  • Come learn, relax, play and be inspired at the Viridian.

    10:00 AM to 9:00 PM - Viridian Lobby: Discover Earth: Our Changing Planet, a national traveling exhibition that explores Earth’s ever-changing physical and biological systems, will be on display at The Library’s Viridian Event Center from June 28 to September 22. The exhibition focuses on earth science topics—such as the differences between weather and climate, water cycle effects, ecosystem changes and invites the public to discover how local environmental changes impact our global environment.The exhibit is divided into three areas: A. Our Changing Planet; B. Ecosystems: The Web of Life; and C. Environmental Change at Home. Exhibit components incorporate personal narratives, stunning graphics, video, animations, and simulation-based educational games.Discover Earth: Our Changing Planet was developed by Space Science Institute’s National Center for Interactive Learning (NCIL) in partnership with the American Library Association’s Public Programs Office, the Lunar and Planetary Institute, and the Afterschool Alliance. The project was made possible through support from the National Science Foundation.     7:00 PM to 8:30 PM - Viridian Lobby: An artist reception will be held at the entrance of the West Jordan Library, 8030 S 1825 W, just off Redwood Road, on Thursday, July 6, from 7 to 8:30pm. The Pasifika Enriching Arts of Utah (PEAU) will be showing photography, paintings and some artifacts from the Pacific Islands. Artists will be available to discuss their work. The public is invited. There is no charge and light refreshments will be served.
