Ask a Librarian a Reference Question allows Salt Lake County Library card holders to send short reference questions to the library using the Internet. Your question can be sent at any time, even after the library has closed for the day. Librarians will then respond with facts, or with suggestions for sources such as books, Internet sites, or ways to contact experts.
What is a reference question?
A reference question can be about almost anything, but should lend itself to a short answer of factual information -- such as a statistic, fact, address, date, or name.
For example, you could ask:
Where are the corporate headquarters for Delta Airlines? Who are the current officers?
Which Shakespeare play has the quote "study is like heaven's glorious sun"?
How does it work?
Use the form to ask short, factual questions. A librarian will send a response to your online question to your e-mail address, normally within 48 hours. For more involved questions, or if you are unsure how to state your question, it is better to talk with a librarian in person or by phone.
